Here it is, finally got around to finishing the African map for Butterfly Hurricane. I may still have some revisions to go back on it with, but I think it's good for now
Africa always loses out in the Alternate history stakes - generally it is either ignored, or ends up as the domain of some empire or another (read "British" or "Nazi", heh). This Africa is a little different. The differing breakdown of colonialism is caused by increased involvement of the fractured American powers on the continent, and the different results of WW2.
With many French, Dutch, Polish, Jewish, and other Europeans fleeing to the colonies during and after the 2nd World War, a lot more European interest remained on the continent after the breakdown of colonialism. Generally, there is a lot more advancement here, less corruption, less starvation, less strife and trouble... not to say this Africa is a paradise - far from it. Equatorial Africa is an expansionist military power, southern Africa is constantly embroiled in small border wars, and religious strife spills over into Europe and the Middle East - Egypt is a Jewish-controlled state, and the F.A.U. is a staunch defender/preacher of Catholicism against the "Crescent Invasion" of north-west Africa.
As always, comments/questions are welcome
