This took me ages >_< I present the Third Empire, of my Golden Age timeline. I think the descriptions on the image itself are pretty comprehensive, so all I'll write here is that questions and comments are, as ever, welcome :)

I've never seen a Canada-wank. All hail the Third Empire!!! :P
Curious, does the Japanese Imperial family still retain some kind of sub-national head of state role in the Empire, as do some African monarchies do today?

Damn, if only this had sprung from actual Canadian rule and not the importation of the monarchy. Still, O Global Canada!!!

So New Zealand is part of the Empire, but not Australia? Is Oz independent, then, or part of Communist Britain?

Communist revolution in the 1940's :) The Royal Family managed to evacuate to Canada, which formed the nucleus of the Third Empire in later decades.

Rule Britannia. XD

Actually, it seems like a benevolent version of the British Empire in Code Geass.

From this point in the timeline, they've only got about another forty years before Earth is devestated by a titanic explosion :D

So I guess they have the resources to go off-world, right?

Well by this time Mars is already terraformed and colonised (the bottom segment in the map is of the Empire's Martian territories, and the one on the right is Deimos, Mars' moon). After the death of the homeworld, the Empire reconsolidates on Mars, taking control of most of the red planet along with seizing control over Jupiter Sector.

Wow! This has grown from a map and a few flags to a well detailed and very intriguing timeline. I think I still remember the first ComCom deviation you posted. ^^

Anyway, this is great! Like I've said before, I hope this really gets big one day. I'd love to see it on the big screen or play a game set in this universe. It's just so detailed! :)

Also, the North-American based British successor empire annexing Japan sounds very, VERY similar to the plot of a certain anime. Tell me, did it inspire you or is it just pure coincidence? XD

Honest coincidence! lol, I'm not a big watcher of anime, and I have no idea which one you're talking about :D Call it great minds thinking alike ;) lol.

Haha, ok. ^^

The anime in question is called Code Geass. The backdrop of the story is that a social darwinist British Empire based in North America (with the capital in what's the USA IRL) invading and annexing Japan in order to obtain some unobtanium mineral called sakuradite of which Japan has a lot.

It's cool, except one thing. It's not Siberia. It's much much deeper into Russia towards Europe.

Cool job anyway.

[link] :) I'm using Siberia the geographic term, rather than the adminitrative district of the Russian Federation - that, and western English-speaking news agencies and beurocrats in the Empire couldn't think of a better term for the land :D

Lol, the Associate State of Kirk is named after the city of Kirksville, which in turn is named after Dr. Abel Kirk, founder of a terraforming institute and the initial colonial outpost around which the city grew - NOT the Captain from a certain well known sci-fi...

And thanks for the fave :)

Thanks :D Yeah, in the forty years between the Mars maps and this one they managed to tame the swampy wilderness and bolster the population numbers enough to settle the area, and join it all up nice and neat.

I'm still battling to write the timeline, but I've got a few shreds of stories on the go too...
Speaking of the timeline, I may eventually give up and post it as a rolling WIP, as it's just getting far too large and unwieldy already and is nowhere near finished, lol. Besides that, I've also got a lot of ideas for the next set of maps, after the events of the decade-long Solar War, and I want to "clear the field" as it were to start working on those...

Looks, pretty cool. I'll be checking it out another time when I got more energy. Though I think you've confused West Guyana and Suriname: West Guyana is the bigger one. That is, unless they named the territories differently in this timeline. XD
