Terranum Europa - 984 R.A. (2009 A.D.)
This is a world familiar, yet strange. Names straight out of our history books are present on the globe, and yet this is a world replete with highly advanced technologies. Supersonic maglev trains cross nations and tie cities together, massive geothermal plants supply the world's power, the Earth is strung with space-elevators, and many nations operate colonies on the Moon and even Mars.
This is a world where many ancient nations survived; among many changes, the Christian Revolution died in its infancy, and the Roman Empire survived, keeping Europe marching forwards under a more-or-less unified banner. With no Dark Ages, and no Medieval period, so much that was lost in our time remained and was preserved, and built upon.
The modern descendant of the Roman Empire exists as a vast Republic, stretching from Spain (Hispania) to the Black Sea (Pontus Euxinus) to the Indus river (Sattagydae).
I'll be making more maps, and perhaps writing some about the timeline as things progress. I'm taking a fair amount of artistic licence with this timeline
but it's primarily for fun, and I hope you like the idea.
